Last weekend I went to Nantucket for the first time. It was SUCH a fun girls trip, with lots of parties. On our first day, we went grocery shopping and went out to a tapas dinner. The next few days we bounced between The Chicken Box (the main bar), a local brewery, and a party house. We went out to dinner another night, but also had a fun fam dinner at our rental, which was super cute and cozy. We spent most mornings making breakfast at home, and hung out on the beach. A few of us got matching "Nantucket" sweatshirts, which I LOVE, and we spent our last day at the most adorable lighthouse. The funniest part about going to and from the island is how many forms of transportation it takes to get there (Subway, train, car, ferry, uber.)
This is a little out of order, but in fall 2016, Logan and I went upstate for an autumn weekend. It was a so peaceful and charming. We camped, went to a jazz bar, and explored Hudson. We woke up to snow falling one morning, and I brought home that adorable succulent. I definitely want to go back this fall.
Lindsey and I went to Barcelona and France this spring. It was incredible - a very relaxing trip with amazing wine, strolling on beaches, and exploring Spanish clubs. It was such a fun time. I'm pretty sure I had a latte every single day. Below is a dish from an incredible restaurant we went to called Mont Bar. Delicious!
Another quick travel update - over Thanksgiving 2017, we went to Morocco. Above are some of my favorite moments. We were only there for a few days, but they were full of great food, camel rides and huge markets. We were in Basel for a bit before and after, and below are a few pics. We were able to wander around the Christmas market while we were there - one of my favorite things in Basel. Ok, the last one might be from the pool at our hotel in Marrakech. This trip was like every season in one week!
SO. Having not posted for over a year, I figured it was time for an update. This one is pretty easy though - this is a link to my post on InStyle about my trip to Cancun. The above video is a highlight of the trip - swimming with whale sharks!
On Saturday night, Logan took me out to dinner for my birthday. It was so sweet and a wonderful meal, and when we got back to my place, a huge group of my friends were hiding inside to surprise me with a party!! I was unbelievably shocked and had NO idea. Plus I almost ruined everything - when we were on our way to dinner, I locked us out of my apartment by forgetting my keys (which was the second time I've EVER done that). Logan had given his to his roommates to let my friends in to set up the balloons and streamers and everything, so he didn't have his set. He very casually just said his keys were home, so we would just have to stop by on our way back. His roommate ran down to the restaurant and snuck them to him. I was so confused when I was opening the door because deadbolt was locked, but proceeded to walk in anyway and then was almost knocked off my feet from shock. It was a super fun night filled with margaritas, disposable cameras and laughing with my amazing, thoughtful friends. A great way way to roll into 23!
Had a bit of a wild weekend last Saturday. Above is exactly what happens when a waiter at bottomless brunch literally doesn't stop bringing me bloodies. They were delicious. The weather is just starting to become nice enough to do lots of outdoor things on the weekends, so hopefully more of this but in the sunshine!
So last summer, my parents purchased their retirement home in Colorado, and this week I saw it for the first time. It's a beautiful little house in out in middle-of-nowhere in the mountains in CO (The absolute perfect place for them). It was so fun seeing their adorable tiny town, with sweet little shops and signs up for "Friday Night Community Dance." Seriously, how cute!! They'll be doing some upgrading to the house over the next few months, like replacing the normal wall with a door that goes out to the deck with a gigantic window/sliding glass wall. They are a 35 minute drive from their local ski area called Wolf Creek, which is probably the only tolerable distance from powder for my dad. I can't wait to visit again - I had my eye on a cute fringe suede skirt that I'll definitely need to pick up next time... Above are some pics from my 4 day long weekend there. The one of my toes is the view of their back yard. It's the same spot where I sat outside with my dad looking at the most incredible stars I've ever seen! You can actually see thousands of stars out there.
Lindsey, Kim, Jocelyn and I have started doing Friday breakfasts together. (It really make me feel like we're in Sex and the City.) Here is a pic of the most delicious spinach goat cheese pastry from this most recent Friday.
